Voters go to polls today

THE BALLOT Tennessee voters will choose Democratic and Republican candidates for U.S. House races; decide which Democrat will oppose Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander in November; vote in party primaries for state House and some state Senate seats; and choose five Metro Nashville school board members, the Williamson County sheriff and other county officials. HOW TO VOTE Opening times vary by county, but all close at 7 p.m. Central time. Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be permitted to cast ballots.
