NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Several businesses have been evacuated after an ammonia leak on the west side of downtown Nashville.
HAZMAT crews were called out to the scene at Charlotte and 11th Avenue North just after noon. Part of Charlotte was closed.
SkyCam video showed the leak was near an area where an old meat packing building was being demolished. Officials said the work caused the leak.
The Greyhound bus station and nearby Porter Paints were evacuated. Officials said no schools in the area have been evacuated.
There have been no reports of illness or injuries.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
