TN veterans to get housing help
About 165 homeless veterans in Tennessee will get permanent housing assistance through a program administered by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development.
The program connects homeless veterans from local Veterans Affairs Medical Centers with rental assistance vouchers provided by local public housing agencies.
According to details announced Thursday, a HUD program will provide state public housing agencies with $843,000 targeted to assist homeless vets.
The Memphis Housing Authority will get $258,000, the Metro Development and Housing Agency in Nashville $374,000, the Jackson Housing Authority $73,000 and the Murfreesboro Housing Authority $138,000
