One Dead, One Injured In Early Morning Crash

A red vehicle ran off the road around 5:30 a.m. and flipped onto its top - pinning the passenger. An eye-witness told NewsChannel 5 that the vehicle was speeding and lost control. The passenger died on the scene, and emergency crews transported the driver to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition. Officials said the driver should be ok and charges are pending against him. Both the driver and passenger are in the mid-20s, and police said alcohol was involved.
