Metro police will set up sobriety checkpoints this week in some of the city's highest traffic corridors.
Teams of officers, including those working extra duty paid by Governor's Highway Safety Office grant funding, will man sobriety checkpoints between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday night.
Checkpoints will be set up in downtown Nashville, on Nolensville Pike, Harding Place and Trinity Lane.
So far this year, impaired drivers caused almost half of all fatal crashes in Davidson County, Metro police said in a statement.
