McGavock High student fatally shot
Metro police say Carlos Tejeda, 16, of Nashville was killed in a gang-related shooting Friday night.
In a news release, police said one of two Hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s shot the McGavock High student from a stolen Nissan Altima.
They said someone in the car called to the teen "using a gang reference" before shooting him in the chest. He died at the scene, on D Ville Drive southeast of Nashville International Airport.
An Altima matching the description of the shooter's vehicle was stolen 10 minutes earlier at the Woodbridge apartment complex in South Nashville.
